Gitschberg | Meransen - Winter Magic at 2,017 Meters
The Gitschberg-Nesselbahn cable car takes you quickly and comfortably up to the stunning winter landscape at 2,017 meters. During the ascent, you'll already enjoy breathtaking views of the snow-covered Eisacktal and Pustertal. From December to the end of March, Gitschberg offers unforgettable winter experiences: perfectly groomed slopes, spectacular views, and cozy mountain huts for the perfect ski day.
With continuous opening hours from 08:30 to 16:45, you can make the most of your day in the snow. Along the slopes, the huts offer warm drinks and typical South Tyrolean specialties - the ideal break between descents.
Approach
- Start in Mühlbach: Leave the town center of Mühlbach heading north on the main road.
- Turnoff to Meransen: After about 1 km, take the well-marked right turn towards Meransen.
- Drive up to Meransen: Follow the winding mountain road for about 6 km until you reach Meransen.
- Arrival in Meransen: Once in Meransen, follow the signs to the right towards the Gitschberg cable car. The valley station is located near the village center.
Parking
A large, free parking lot is available directly at the valley station.
